GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred but not required
Enrolled in at least 6 units for spring/fall semesters or 3 units for summer semester
Recommendation from Columbia faculty for courses the applicant wishes to tutor
Interview with AAC Coordinator
Enrollment of Peer Tutor Training Course (TUTOR 100) in fall or spring (not offered in the summer)
Completion of Peer Tutor Application, YCCD hiring paperwork, and fingerprinting
Desirable Characteristics of a tutor
Patience during the learning process
Flexibility
An interest in helping others
Willingness to assist with other projects in the AAC
